I bought my first Roll-a-cot 4 years ago so that I could stop sleeping on the ground at Airventure at Oshkosh, WI, and my second one the next year, after I took a buddy with me and he had to sleep on the ground. Since then, I've used one or the other of the two every time I've gone airplane camping by myself, or both when I've taken a friend. I put a self-inflating mattress (Therm-A-Rest Basecamp) on top, and I sleep as comfortably as on the bed at home.

When we had our carpets cleaned last time, we moved them into the sunroom, and both of us slept comfortably on them here at home.

The cots go together easily, and they are very sturdy when assembled. I was concerned that the legs might puncture the floor of the tent, but they are large enough and have plastic covers (like crutch tips), so that hasn't been an issue at all. And it's SO much easier to get up from a cot than from the ground!

Not everything is perfect, however. The carriers that come with the cot are a piece of junk. They're made of the same material as the cots (different color), but they're glued together and didn't last very long before both came unglued. I purchased a large stuff sack which will hold both cots, to keep all of the legs and cots together, which is much better than the provided carriers.

All in all, these cots have made a huge difference in comfort for camping.
