Metzeler ME 880 Marathon Touring Rear Tire - 150/80B-16/-- Review

I own an '04 Harley Heritage Softail Classic and installed the 150/80B/16 M/C71H rear tire at 23,022 miles. At the same time I installed the front MT90B/16 M/C72H. I now have 39,800 miles on the bike. The rear tire is in need of immediate replacement for the next riding season. There is very little tread left on the mid-section of the tire. The front tire has one more season and maybe two before it needs replacement. Most of the miles on these tires are highway miles, long distance, including mountains and very hot weather. They were a definite improvement over the original Dunlops in my opinion. The feel was better and the traction seemed improved. Handling in wet conditions was very good, including a recent trip in rain from Madison, WI to Michigan. With almost 17K miles on the rear tire, I believe I did not go wrong. I am convinced that riding style also contributes to longer tire life. Sensible riding has contributed to excellent value for the money. I am ordering the same Metzeler tire again without hesitation.
