Curt 13328-55336 Trailer Hitch and Wiring Package Review

This fit my 2004 Honda Pilot perfectly. At first I wasn't sure that I liked the idea of having the connector cable stowed in the headrest storage bin in the rear cargo area. Now, having seen the installation and having used the hookup, I like the idea a lot. You just pull the connector cable out of the bin, drape it over the lift gate seal, out over the bumper, and hook it to the trailer.

There's plenty of room in the rear lift gate seal to accommodate the durable ribbon cable. I had no problems with cable wear or kinking due to closing the lift gate. It simplified the installation, gives the hitch a cleaner look, and avoids problems with connector corrosion from permanent exterior placement under the rear bumper (like the connector on my pickup) especially if you don't use the hitch/connector very often.

Tip: It's a good idea to clean the threads on frame the where the hitch will be installed, but the larger bolt holes (12x1.25mm) require a tap that's not commonly available at auto parts stores -- or anywhere around here. I ordered one at O'Reilly's and got it next day, but I recommend ordering this one from from Amazon when you order the hitch: Irwin Tools 2742- 3 Piece Set - Tap 12 mm - 1.25
